our club offers
Our playworkers are all dedicated to facilitating varied and exciting play experiences for the children. We pride ourselves on employing a varied workforce who have different experiences and qualities. We have staff who are interested in craft, sports, cooking etc and who really want to inspire and capture children's imaginations.
Our junior playworkers are recruited from the sixth form at the Downs School and who are interested in working with children, they are full of exciting ideas and enthusiastically engage with the children during activities. The Downs School playworkers can really offer children an insight into their experiences at the Down’s school and can be a friendly face for our children when they move onto secondary school.
We also have senior playworkers who work at Compton Primary School with various qualifications and years of experience working within the school with all ages and abilities.
All our Playworkers build a fantastic rapport with children and their families and I am very proud to work with them all.
We provided a fun and stimulating environment for your child to start the school day. The Before School Club runs from 8:00am - 8:50am, Monday to Friday during school term.
We pride ourselves on delivering a fun, happy and safe place for your children to freely play with their friends. In preparation for a busy school day, Before School Club focuses on quieter pursuits, which includes activities such as Lego, arts and crafts, puzzles, toys and board games.
At the end of the Before School Club session, the children will be escort to their classes by our staff.
Children's safety and wellbeing is of paramount importance to us. Every child should feel safe, valued, and cared for within our care. We ensure this by adhering to all of The Pirate Clubs policies, which you can find here on our website, which have been carefully written in accordance with current guidance and legislation.
We strongly believe that every child's individual needs are met; all our staff are trained in incorporating inclusive thinking in their practice. We encourage children to build positive relationships with children and we have a zero-tolerance to all forms of bullying.
We have a secure building that is situated on Compton CoE Primary Schools grounds. Access to the building via a buzzer on the gate. Children have to be signed out of the club by a nominated person.
Cleanliness and hygiene is a part of the club's daily procedures including regular hand washing and clean of the club after every session. Every session has specially trained staff known as the safeguarding lead and a paediatric first aider who attend every session.
